Hold Fast O.X. Frame Series – Available Now!

Posted on

We’re proud to introduce to you our latest, the Hold Fast O.X. Frame Series. They’ve been described by our test riders as the kind of bike that is so responsive, “all you have to do is think it, and the bike does the rest”. While we can’t make that claim ourselves (thanks a lot, Colin), our goal was simply to create an aggressive and highly responsive frame with a dialed-in geometry that encourages intuitive freestyle riding.

We believe in purpose-built bikes, and this one is designed for pure, uncompromised freestyle riding. Quick and responsive, stable yet comfortable…this innovative frame offers flow, balance, and control for the advanced freestyle rider (fixed or freewheel).

We’ve incorporated many functional design details into this American made frame, including a short wheelbase and tight rear triangle (with the shortest chainstays of any fixed freestyle frame), that offers superb handling, especially during quick transitions. It has “just enough” of a negative bottom bracket clearance for grinds, with pegs or peg-less, and its short headtube & “dialed in” fork length add to the strength of the frame while simultaneously decreasing weight.

It makes sense that it’s far easier to manipulate a lightweight frame than a heavy one, right? That’s why we built our frames out of a special blend of OX Platinum steel tubing, which offers the benefits of lighter frame without sacrificing any of the strength (OX Platinum actually gets stronger at the weld points, eliminating the need for gussets while reducing unecessary weight).

We also discovered that as lightweight as these frames feel, their weight is secondary to balance. These matched frames and forks were designed together for optimal balance, as a better balanced bike makes it easier to learn new tricks. And these frames also make for a killer freewheel bike, and come with the option for 990 brake mounts both front and rear.

We’ve been working on these frames for a long time (we started working on this about the same time we started making straps, believe it), and we’re very proud to have the opportunity to make these available to you. Entirely made-in-USA, just like all Hold Fast products! This is a very limited run, so get your now before they are gone.

Chris Clappe’ Welcome To Holdfast

Posted on

Really excited to have Chris officially on the team, been a fan of his riding since he was foot plant spinning his gtb back in the day. Can’t deny that pegless style adopted by a lot of the former “spinners” is a truly enjoyable element of fixed gear, and Chris makes it seem fun and effortless. All of this was filmed on our first prototype frame, the production model is a huge improvement and I cant wait to see Chris’ take on it.

Future Tense: APRIL

It’s not an easy feat pulling of an event of this magnitude, and the fact that Zlog has done this monthly for years is really impressive! A good mix of riding, racing, and stunting in this one with the omnipresent Tyler Johnson and the more subdued Chris Clappe.
